Field Trip to the Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery

All of the 5th Grade classes from Highland went to the Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery on Tuesday Oct. 14th, 2008
Maddy flattened a penny and engraved The Lewis and Clark Symbol on it!
Here is our "Ride"
the group of girls I had were: Maddy, Bailey, Hannah & Makenna
10 year old girls are sooo sweet! I had a great time!

A bear in the Lobby, they are all along the Columbia River

We walked around the Fish Hatchery and the girls enjoyed getting their picture taken
This is the famous Herman the sturgeon! He is huge!
The girls got to feed the fish too.
Here I am with my Maddy
" Ranger Pat" was our tour guide of the Dam.
It was a very educational feild trip and we had great weather!

Thanks for coming to visit Aunt Rachelle!

Rained Out!

No Softball games this past weekend! Rained out! It was a blessing... Maddy's head Coach, Tom Rombach under went open heart surgery on Friday morning and had a bypass. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and His Wife Stacy and daughters Ally and Emily.
Update... Tom is recovering well from his surgery... he will have the next 6-8 weeks off from work to make sure his heart heals properly.
Next and last games for the fall are this weekend.. Good luck Fury Fastpitch!

Gresham shuts out Mollalla... 10/4/08

Gresham 8th grade Varsity Football Team walking off the field in Mollalla with another win 34-0
Cole's jersey got torn during the first half... caught on a helmet during a tackle. It had rained really hard just prior to the start of the game... the boys were warming up and took the field already covered in mud!
You will have to click on this photo to enlarge it enough to see the score!

Maddy's Softball Games!

It was an unusually warm day for Oregon... 85 degrees and very breezy! Maddy played well... again they are the youngest team and are learning to play with the big girls.
Sierra was not thrilled to have to come with us to the games.. and she absolutely hates to have someone else take a picture of her. Her Dad tortured her with taking pictures and video. Sorry Sierra.. you will survive!

Another Win for the Gresham Varsity Football Team!

The final score, Gresham 22, Milwaukie 0... The whole team played great!
The game was played @ The Mt. Hood Community College Field. The weather was absolutely perfect! 74 degrees... not bad for September 27th in Oregon!

Gresham against Gladstone Football

Saturday night was actually quite enjoyable. For starters Maddy And Sydnee were @ a sleepover birthday party so we were able to watch Cole's game without any interuptions! Whoo Hoo! Sierra brought her friend Taylor along so they kept Presley entertained!
I filmed the game for the coach, so as you can imagine it was difficult for me to keep my mouth shut and not talk while the video was running. I managed (I think) Our boys won 32 to 6! Great game. We had 3 touchdowns in the first quarter!
After the game we went to dinner @ El Tapatio so Sierra could try some of her spanish out! You will have to ask her what Huevos means! She did pretty good... it was late when we got home. Cole still had to write his talk for sacrament. (that made for a really late night!)

Court of Honor

This is Cole with his buddy Brody and Scout Master Bro. Frey. Cole received 6 merit badges, 4 of which he completed @ scout camp. The other 2 he completed in AZ with Uncle Adam. Thanks to all that helped!

8th grade Gresham Football

Here is kick off to Cole's game on saturday the 13th. They played Rex Putnam Kingsmen in Milwaukie.. on an artificial turf field. Very nice!
They lost 12-14 ... the other team made their field goal kick after their last touch down and we did not. It was a good match up between the two teams! Can you see Cole? He's #21!
Notice only Sierra and Maddy sitting by me in the bleachers.. Steven took Sydnee and Presley home before half time ,due to them being very irritating. (oops they got on their Daddy's last nerve!)

Fall Softball has started!

Maddy's team "Fury" moved up to 12U this fall. Their first 3 games were a learning experience! Maddy's first comment after she saw the other teams was " Mom, they wear make-up...sparkly eye shadow and everything!"
Maddy is lead off batter... she got hits in all of her games.. and scored each time too! She got to steal home for the first time and slid in safe!! She made several amazing plays.. but the one that was the most awesome was a fly ball that she had to run back and to the side and still jump about 2 feet in the air and came down with the ball in her glove! (can you tell I am a proud mom?)

Double duty for the Tooth Fairy!

Friday night both Sydnee and Presley lost a tooth!
First it was Sydnee @ 8:30pm.. her 7th tooth!
Then @ 8:38pm Presley's very first tooth came out! She was/is so excited!

Cole's first day of the 8th Grade!

My last one to leave for school! He thought he had 20 minutes to spare when I announced he had to ride the bus! He replied.."you are not serious about this bus thing? I hate the bus!" As you can see the torment when I actually made him ride the bus! Here he is waiting for the bus with all of his cool neighborhood schoolmates! p.s. thank goodness for cell phones.. he forgot his schedule at home and I was able to relay his info to him!(beats having to take it to him)

Coles last semi-day of freedom before school starts!

  1. Cole is a WEB leader(where everyone belongs) @ his school. He went for 4 hours on the 1st day for 6th graders to show them around the school and help them feel comfortable starting middle school. Then he and a friend came home and rode motorcycles up and down the neighborhood all afternoon! I could hardly get him to hold still for a photo!

Freshman in High School!

Sierra knows my rules.. everyone gets their picture taken on the first day of school! But yet she tried to sneak out the door with out me snapping a single picture! Doesn't she look thrilled?
She proclaimed that the 1st day of school was terrible and that the next day is going to be even worse! I think she will eventually change her mind and realize it isn't that bad! If not the next 4 years @ Gresham High is going to be pure Hell! (ha ha)
